Hi. We had a chick hatch out with one leg that were splayed. When a chick has splay leg it is usually because the surface they were standing on had no grip, but can sometimes just be born this way. Surfaces with no grip such as cardboard are terrible for new born chicks. You want something that isn't flat such as drawer/shelf liner.
We've seen this before and it is an easy fix. Just be sure to fix as soon as possible. The longer you wait the harder it is to fix the leg. We use this medical bandage wrap and it works out pretty well. You just need to keep in on for 24-48 hours.
Thanks for watching.
