As we are waiting for the high-fidelity Phantom module in DCS World, here's a video featuring VSN's F-4B. This first truly operational Phantom saw intensive service in the US Navy during the Operation Rolling Thunder in Vietnam. American crews were facing the increasing threat of North Vietnamese pilots flying MiG-17s and MiG-21, many of which achieved ace status. The most successful pilot of the entire war war Nguyen Van Coc with nine kills to his credit.
On 7 May 1968, he took off as a wingman, initially to intercept an American electronic warfare aircraft. But US Navy sent five F-4B Phantoms to meet the MiG-21s.
