LEAD IN
Every year in Iran, an international Quran exhibition is held during Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting.
The aim of this year's exhibition is to educate and develop a greater understanding of the Holy Quran, and to encourage visitors to practise what they learn.
STORYLINE:
The Quran is the holiest book in Islam.
Muslims believe that the Quran contains the exact words spoken by God to the angel Gabriel, who transmitted it to Prophet Muhammad.
Muslims also believe in the other Holy Books including "The Torah" that was revealed to the Prophet Moses.
Muhammad Mahdi Farahani, a young clergyman who visited the international Quran exhibition, says that art enhances the message of the Quran.
Calligraphers were demonstrating their skills to the visitors.
Mojtaba Karami, a calligrapher who has started writing the Quran in English, believes that choosing a holy book full of God's names glorifies himself and his visitors.
Mojtaba intends to continue writing the holy book to both inspire himself and other.
The artistic works in the exhibition are not limited to transcriptions only.
