5 Signs You May Need a CPM Machine After Knee Replacement Surgery
1. If you have not had your knee replacement surgery yet, but due to previous knee trauma or injury you do not have more than 120 degrees of knee flexion or less than 10 degrees of knee extension.
2. If you do not have access to physical therapy immediately following your total knee replacement and may need a CPM machine to assist in moving your knee through the required range of motion after surgery.
3. If you have had problems with excessive scar tissue formation, limited joint range of motion, or you may have a history of autoimmune conditions that may limit your ability to actively flex and extend your knee.
4. If you have had previous surgical interventions that resulted in limited range of motion.
5. If you are schedule to have an MUA.
