In their 3rd meeting in J.League history, Osaka was pink again after an exciting scoring chase between the 2 teams.
Stared with an early goal in the 5th minute by Bernardo, the away team fought back and led the scoreboard thanks to the double from Hiromitsu Isogai. The home team; however, didn't give up easily and in the 76th minute, the Brazilian midfielder Marquinhos equalized before Cerezo Osaka's one-club legend Hiroaki Morishima finished the match when the clock was ticking the last few minutes of the game.
