STORYLINE:
A suicide car bomber targeted a NATO convoy in the southern city of Kandahar on Wednesday, injuring two soldiers and damaging one vehicle, said a spokesman for NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
He did not identify the soldiers' nationalities.
Afghanistan has seen a sharp rise in violence the last several months, particularly in the southern and eastern provinces near the border with Pakistan.
Militants have been increasingly using roadside and suicide bombs in their attacks against Western and Afghan security forces.
A NATO spokesman said earlier on Wednesday that five ISAF soldiers have been killed this week.
