On this episode of my podcast The Filmcraziest Show I talked with Nicholas Ashe Bateman, the director, writer, producer, VFX supervisor and editor of the new drama fantasy epic, THE WANTING MARE.

The film is set in a world called Anmaere, about a city inside of it called Whithren. Whithren’s most valuable export is wild horses and every year, a giant ship comes to transport these horses to the wintry continent of Levithen across the sea, and that’s where everyone wants to go. The story concerns mostly three generations of women who pass down recurring dreams to each other.

In our conversation, we discuss the world building of the film, some inspiration, what it was like working with a small team and the process of getting the film off the ground, as well as a lovely commemoration of the film's production designer Cassandra Louise Baker. As well, we discuss Nicholas' work as a VFX supervisor on David Lowery's THE GREEN KNIGHT.
