People feel more tired during winter than they do during other seasons. The good news is you can take steps to fight the fatigue and stay energetic, even during the darkest days of winter.
While everyone enjoys a nice day, sunlight is closely tied to human biology. Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland inside the brain. Melatonin regulates sleep and wakefulness. When we’re in the dark, our bodies produces more melatonin. Winter is a dark time, so our bodies produce more melatonin in response. This leads to excessive feelings of fatigue and tiredness.
Get enough sleep
One may feel hesitant in getting up from the bed if they have not had enough sleep during the night. Set a routine and avoid using cell phones during late night. Go to bed on time in the night and you will feel physically energised in the morning automatically.
Regular exercise
Exercise is a sure shot way to feel energised in the mornings during any season. Ditch that lazy mood of yours and get down to the grind. It is advised to get at least 150 minutes of exercise during the week.
Increase Vitamin D intake
Since sunlight gets less during the winters, the body may experience Vitamin D deficiency. This will have a direct impact on your energy levels. Make sure to incorporate sufficient Vitamin D in the your diet. With doctor's advise, you may also try supplements. Types of fishes, egg yolks and mushrooms are also good sources of Vitamin D.
Eat a balanced diet
One reason to follow a healthy, balanced diet is that you’ll boost energy levels.
Ensure you’re getting enough nutrients by eating whole, fresh foods from a variety of food groups. Pair unrefined carbs with protein for sustained energy levels. Include plenty of fiber and anti-inflammatory foods.
Drink more water
Stay properly hydrated to keep your body running at optimum levels.
Dehydration can lead to low energy levels. It can also have a negative impact on your sleep by drying out your mouth and nasal passages, and can lead to snoring, hoarseness, and leg cramps. Plus, it can make you less alert and mentally clear the next day.
Get your sleep on
Proper rest is essential if you want to maintain energy levels throughout the day. Relax before going to bed, possibly doing some gentle stretches. Improve your sleep area by keeping it clean and maintaining an appropriate temperature.
Other tips for better sleep include:
Practice guided relaxation, meditation, or yoga to help you drift off to sleep.
Buy a comfortable mattress, pillow, and blanket.
Wear loose, natural fabrics.
Go to sleep and wake up at the same time each day.
Use earplugs and an eye mask.
Reduce stress
Stress can zap you of the mental and physical energy needed to carry out your day with ease. Stress hormones can have a negative effect on your sleep patterns, bodily systems, and overall health.

We help people in their journey of achieving great success, longevity & prosperity by improving both their internal game (mental wellness) as well as external game (methods to achieve your weight loss goal).
I feel, the 3 essential aspects towards lifestyle management or to lose weight is to have a goal (essentially your tangible target), a checkpoint system or timely monitoring (so that you feel answerable) & most important a source of motivation (a mentor). When all 3 blend in together, your success is bound to happen. 😁🙌
