Dr Phoebe Meagher, Pathology and Research Coordinator, and Dr Lydia Tong, Veterinary Pathologist at the Taronga Conservation Society Australia talk about their research into forensic science and illegal wildlife trafficking. They have developed an exciting method that uses stored elemental signatures in keratinous tissues (quills, hair, scales, scutes and fur) to identify if an animal has been raised in captivity or taken from the wild.
