How did I get here, uhhhhhhhhh... My sleep schedule got really messed up because I got into Dark Souls Remastered over the holiday break. For a while, going to bed at 5a or 6a was completely normal to me lol. I accidentally corrected it when work started back up, but I went too far. I started waking up at like 3:30a or 4:00a, hours before work.
I think last Tuesday I was just bored before work, trying to come up with things to do. I was vibing with this Born of Osiris album and kept coming back to this song. Did most of my learning that morning and the following morning I spent a few hours sculpting the drum tone lol. I didn't expect to get so into the production of this cover, but ye, I was really detailed and I feel like it sounds lowkey amazing because of that.
I'm excited to potentially to cover more stuff from Born of Osiris and similar bands, this stuff was all very inspiring to me when I first started writing music.

If any vocalists wanna use this for your own cover on YouTube, let me know! I can supply you with the WAV file and tempo map to make life easier!

*DRUMS*
I used TDR Molot and Logic's Phat FX a lot on the kick and snare. Ended up having to shape the sound with an EQ before and after compression/saturation tho. TDR Molot on the drum bus is still a game changer tbh!
Kick:
GGD Invasion: Pearl Masters Birch 22x16"
Snare:
GGD Modern & Massive: VK Drums Copper 14x6.5"
Steven Slate Drums 5.5: SSD Snare 15 (tune -40)
Toms:
Steven Slate Drums 5.5: Tom Pearl MMC 10, 12, 16, 18
Cymbals:
GGD Invasion
GGD Modern & Massive for an extra cymbal hit or two

*BASS*
Just my standard bass tone I've been using for the past 5-6 months, with a little extra grime.
Noise Gate → Pedalboard → Plugin Alliance Ampeg SVTVR → EQ → Comp → Multiband Comp → EQ
In the Pedalboard plugin before the amp, I have a Graphic EQ cutting 200Hz, boosting 1.6k and 3.2kHz. Following that with a a fairly cranked Compressor, and split processed Candy Fuzz. I had Candy Fuzz at about 11 'o'clock and 9 'o'clock for Drive and Level respectively. Candy Fuzz is mixed in at around 20% wet.

*GUITAR*
Literally used Neural DSP Soldano for every guitar in this session. I'm glad the semi-recent update fixed the plugin a bit, it used to run reeeeaaaaally bad if I had more than a few instances in a session.
Nothing too crazy going on in Soldano, but I ended up doing some EQ in the Pedalboard plugin before the amp, cutting some low-mid mud and boosting 3.2k and 6.4kHz.
On both the rhythms and leads, I added Phat FX at the end of the chain, with some Diode and Grit distortion and the compressor somewhat cranked. I mixed this in at about 12% because I was finding the guitars to be a little too dark the way I EQ'd them.
I think adding some high-mid / high-end harmonics after you've destroyed any harshness with EQ is really cool. It gives a similar effect to a bell EQ, just without a lot of the pokeyness that makes my ears bleed lol. Give it a try sometime!

*SYNTHS*
Bro, idk. I used a lot of Alchemy, Xpand!2, and Korg Triton. Might've thrown in an Ocarina of Time dulcimer sample in there lol.
I had fun doing the choppy dubstep-lite section, even though I originally wanted to cut it entirely lol. Hope you think it sounds good.

*MASTER*
I used TDR Limiter 6 again, I like that plugin. :)
