KHARKIV has been rocked by multiple HUGE explosions during overnight Russian bombardment on the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day.
Crews worked to extinguish fires and remove parts of missiles from buildings hit by shelling in Kharkiv on August 24, Ukraine’s independence day, the State Emergency Service (SES) said.
The SES said a fire broke out at a three-storey residential building in the Shevchenkivs’kyi district following shelling. About 100 rescue personnel were involved in the elimination of the fire, they said. There were no injuries reported.
Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov said on Telegram that the Shevchenkivs’kyi district was hit multiple times around midnight, resulting in a fire. The Novobavarsky district was also hit, Terekhov said.
