Husband and wife team Martin Chard and Jenny David entered the den looking for £50,000 investment for a 30% equity stake in their specialised device that every builder/ handyman needs in their inventory. Martin Chard, who has Asperger's and Dyslexia, has been working for many years as a building maintenance engineer. The couple were looking for an investor that would take the existing product and run with it, this set off alarm bells for Nick Jenkins and the other Dragons.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.
