Even though there is quite a procedure to go through in a pretty short amount of time, but visual landings actually aren't that hard.
Even before doing this training, I was able to land in a free flight on my 1st try without a problem (although it wasn't pretty^^).
FYI, here's my landing Checklist for the F-15C:
! check F10 map or Kneeboard for AP elevation and ILS capability !
NAV before runway at 300kn
(Armament master Safe)
Radio: Calling Inbound
ILSN activates automatically; CSET is blinking (use NEXT button to switch airports!)
fly towards the "Final Approach Fix" (~10nmi) at +2.500ft and 250kn
Lochini at ~1.500ft = approach at 4.000ft for a 3° decent
at that point
Radio: Landing Permission
(engage Landing lights)
Flaps down
Gears down
follow HSI & ADI exactly!
pull back stick for 20-22 AoA
regulate height via throttle
Velocity Vector at -3° and on the start of the runway
"MKR" outer marker
"MKR" inner marker
shortly before landing: put the Vel.Vector up to the horizon
after Touchdown:
nose up to about 10-15° to "airbrake"
Airbrakes off
Flaps up
engage Taxi lights
disengage Radar
after Parking:
throttle to idle
disengage all Lights
shutdown engines
shutdown electric
open canopy
