In this episode, Sal Mercogliano - maritime historian at Campbell University and former merchant mariner - discusses the sailing of two tankers by Chevron to Venezuela after receiving a license from the Biden Administration. The United States has imposed sanctions on Venezuela since 2018 following the suspected illegal issues associated with the election of Nicolas Maduro. This is part of an effort to give incentives for Maduro to work with opposition leaders on a new presidential election in late 2023.
