When Free Agency Opens on July 1st Will the NJ Devils SIGN Nikita Zadorov or Chris Tanev? Both were names on the Devils radar when the trade deadline came and went and now that the NJ Devils traded for goaltender Jakob Markstrom the first thing I thought. Does this make Zadorov and Tanev more willing to sign with the Devils to play in front of their former friend and netminder again. It is possible.
The Devils traded off Big Defenseman Kevin Bahl and clearly may make room for another Defenseman to sign in Free agency. With the windows being short with Markstrom with his current contract expiring in 2 seasons and his age will Tom Fitzgerald and the Devils go all in and try for one of or both of Zadorov and Tanev.
With the defensive struggles they endured last season I wouldnt be surprised to see them kicking the tires on these 2 veteran defenseman.
