Full flight Pilot Vlog with a short field approach and short field landing using the head wind for a smooth landing. Pilot Vlog features a cockpit view from a Piper Cherokee 140 single engine airplane with cockpit audio radio. The Pilot Vlog cockpit view feature taxi, Piper Cherokee takeoff checklist, run up, takeoff, climb, descent, and landing. This Pilot Vlog cockpit view is a full flight from Rock Hill York County Airport UZA to Goose Creek Airport 28A and shows how I took advantage of a modest wind to land the Piper Cherokee 140 single engine airplane smoothly.
The Pilot Vlog shows me using a modest 10kt headwind on approach and final to my advantage for a smooth landing touchdown. Cockpit audio radio lets you hear and you can see from the cockpit view how I configure the aircraft for short field landing early, choosing to configure the aircraft for landing mid way through downwind in the pattern and turning base early. This allowed the wind to correct the early turns on downwind-base and elongate my final approach. I turned final at a higher altitude than I wanted, however the headwind deceased my altitude to where I had to add throttle to clear some trees.
This full flight pilot vlog took off from a long runway at Rock Hill York County Airport UZA and landed at the paved short field Goose Creek Airport 28A. Goose Creek Airport has a 2300ft x 40ft runway with tress on either end. Luckily the wind was 10kt out of 230, and Goose Creek Airport has a runway 22.
