On Friday, August 23rd Old Dominion University freshman descended upon campus to move in to their new residence halls. Students were able to connect with fellow freshmen and begin forging lasting friendships. ODU is welcoming more than 3,100 freshman! Once settled, they said goodbye to their families and officially began their academic journey as an ODU Monarch.
Old Dominion University’s residence halls are home to approximately 4,800 students, half of which are first-year students. Within the 1.3 million square feet of residential space lies 56 buildings, 14 of which are residential communities. ODU also has 13 living-learning communities, which are housing opportunities for students to live together on the same floor and take classes together with a similar focus or topic.
ODU’s Housing and Residence Life employs more than 275 students in roles of Resident Assistant, Office Assistant, Desk Receptionist, and Night Desk Receptionist.
