New U.S. Marine Corps recruits meet their drill instructors, who give an introductory speech, and will be responsible for transforming them into Marines at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. Although the recruits were under the supervision of other drill instructors since their arrival on Parris Island several days earlier, these are the drill instructors who will be with them every moment for the next 12 weeks.
