A tool-assisted speedrun (TAS), is speedrunning an emulated game. During development, the framerate is slowed down to allow precise inputs to be done with ease. Splicing, the action of adding inputs from other speedruns, is used as well. The goal of a TAS is to create a theoretically perfect run.
