In this video, I'll show you how to transfer data from PS4 To PS5 and move all of your games and save data from the PS4 all the way over to your PS5. We're going to fully move all your content over so you won't have to redownload anything and can jump in and go.
The first thing you will need to do is make sure your PS4 and PS5 are both on the same wireless network, and if you have a network cable available, connect them with it. This will help speed up the transfer process (slightly).
Once everything is connected, go onto your PS5 and go to Settings, System, then system Software and select Data Transfer. The next screen will tell you what you can and can't transfer from your PS4 to your PS5. Click on continue after reading each screen. The PS5 will scan for your PS4, and you'll need to hold the power button down on the PS4 for 1 second until you hear a beep; once you hear that, it will connect to the PS4.
From here, you can choose what saved data and games you want to transfer. It will also tell you how much storage you will have available after you complete the transfer. Certain games and apps won't be able to be transferred.
The next screen will give you an estimated time for how long the transfer will take. Trust me, and if you have a lot of data, it will be longer than what their estimate is. Click continue, and the transfer process will begin, and your PS5 will reboot.
Once your system reboots, it will be back to the home screen, and you won't see anything else about the transfer. If you go back to the data transfer settings, it will tell you that it's running in the background and will let you know when it completes. There aren't any indicators or progress bars on the PS5 side. If you check your PS4, you'll see the transfer process is happening. There aren't any progress bars here either, but it will tell you that it will turn off once the transfer is completed.
It took about an hour or so for my transfer to complete. Once done, you will be able to see all your old games are installed, and your saved data has transferred over as well. You're done at this point and can do a reset of your PS4, which I'll show how that's done in another video along with how to capture your gameplay with the PS5. Thanks' for watching.
