Brief overview and general education on how one could potentially use a washer or dryer outlet to pull 220-250 Volt power into the garage or shop for a welder! I don't recommend or condone anyone who is not comfortable or qualified to perform electrical work to start hacking away at wires or rewiring their garage without consideration of safety or code. Please don't unintentionally die.
A small job coming up presents a reoccurring issue, where I don't have a 250V plug that fits the homeowners adapter for a small repair project. The homeowner does has 240V power in the garage for his washer dryer combo, and in a pinch this adapter will get me by for a few minutes of welding.
Changing from a NEMA 10-30 or 10-50 up to a 6-50 that my welder directly adapts to. About $50.00 in projects and a half hour to slap it together.
