UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, criticised Israel’s new four-hour-long humanitarian pauses in northern Gaza by describing them as “very cynical and cruel” and saying that they are only “curing the symptoms”.
She also slammed the US for “protecting Israel” while the human rights community is raising concerns about a risk of genocide against the Palestinians and said that it’s time for Israel “to abide by international law like any other state.”
