Sometimes I ask why didn’t Mace Windu wait for Yoda or Obi Wan to back him up before trying to arrest Palpatine?

Cuz with their help, they would have stood a waaayy better chance against Palpatine and possibly stopping Anakin.

But there are a few reasons why things played out the way it did.

You see, Windu and the other Jedi Master’s were already on their way to see Palpatine.

But things changed after Anakin revealed Palpatine’s true identity.

Right in this moment, Windu thought that if Palpatine revealed himself willingly,

It’s cuz he had started the last part of his plan against the Jedi, whatever that might have been!

He didn’t have time to wait for Yoda so he knew he had to act fast!

And the Jedi had to expect an imminent, bold and dangerous attack from the Chancellor but they instead played right into his master plan.

Ideally the Jedi should've waited and petition the senate to pressure Palpatine to relinquish his emergency powers.

And if that doesn't work, they release the evidence that Palpatine is a traitor and Anakin’s testimony would have carried weight with the public.
