This beginner friendly watercolor tutorial is under ten minutes! Grab a round watercolor brush, some paper and paint and let's get started! I'll show you how to paint a loose and simple watercolor lilac using a handful of colors. Here are the supplies I used.
Brushes: Princeton Neptune round size 4
Paper: 140lb cold press Arches Paper
Paint: cobalt blue, violet, alizarin crimson or rose madder. Sap green and perylene green. You can mix cobalt blue and a warm yellow for an olive green too. Burnt sienna or another brown is fine for the stem.( I used Winsor and Newton and Holbein brand paint). You can substitute a different blue and red. I like to lean toward a pinkish red like rose madder.
