Thieves use angle grinder in broad daylight to steal E-bike from East London shopping centre
Police are hunting a group of suspects, seemingly teenage boys, who were filmed using an angle grinder to steal an electric bike in broad daylight outside an East London shopping centre.
Footage circulating online shows one of the boys using the power tool to saw through the bike's lock before clumsily making off with the high end cycle.
Londoners have been reacting with anger online at the shocking video, in particular the brazen nature of the crime, taking place in front of shoppers going about their days.
The video being shared was recorded at 1.32pm outside the Surrey Quays Mall on Saturday November 6.
It shows two boys dressed in black, one with a balaclava on an e-scooter, and the other with the angle grinder and his hood up can be seen standing over the bike.
