Advanced technique of singh fish farming in ponds: Singh fish farming method
In the past, in our country, at one time, singh fish could be found in large quantities in haors, canals, ponds and reservoirs. At present the natural sanctuary is ruined and shrunk due to various reasons including excessive use of pesticides in the land and industrial poisoning. Earlier, singh fish was not cultivated in the pond.
Pond preparation
Singh fish can be farmed in both new and old ponds. Horn fish farming is better in the old pond than in the new pond. In order to cultivate horn fish in the new pond, the bottom of the pond should be well cultivated and at least 20 kg of dung should be sprinkled per cent and then lime should be applied. This will increase the fertility of the soil.
If the singh fish pond is not fertile, many times the horn fish becomes crooked. If it is an old pond, it should be dried with irrigation first. If there is more mud at the bottom of the pond, some mud from the upper level has to be removed. After removing the mud, lime should be applied at the rate of 1 kg per cent.
The pond should be surrounded on all sides with net nets. This will prevent frogs and snakes from entering the pond. Although frogs do not cause much damage, snake horns are more harmful to fish. Horn fish fry move at a slow speed. This is why snakes can eat a lot of fry.
After laying the net around the pond, 2 to 3 feet of water should be given from the deep tube well. After releasing the fry, a net of one inch should be kept in the pond. If any snake enters the pond in any way, it will be trapped in this net.
