STORYLINE:
Final preparations were being made in Srebrenica on Saturday for the burial of some of the many men and boys killed in the Srebrenica massacre of 1995, which has been described as Europe's worst war crime since the Nazi era.
The bodies of 775 Muslims, found in mass graves and identified through DNA tests, had been placed in a warehouse at the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial and Cemetery, and on Saturday long lines of men passed the coffins towards the graves in preparation for Sunday's ceremony.
More than eight-thousand Bosnian Muslim men and boys were killed over several days when Serb forces overran the town in July 1995.
Srebrenica had been declared a safe zone by the United Nations (UN) and many Bosnians had flocked there for protection.
But in July 1995, Serb troops led by General Ratko Mladic took over the enclave.
The outnumbered UN troops never fired a shot.
They watched as Mladic's troops rounded up the population of Srebrenica and took the men and boys away for execution.
Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan has described the massacre as the darkest page in UN history.
On Saturday thousands of people joined a march through Srebrenica on their way to the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial and Cemetery, on the outskirts of the city, to commemorate those killed.
The three-day 'march of peace', which began in Tuzla, is an annual event.
The marchers arrived at the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial and Cemetery later on Saturday evening.
A large line of people helped move the coffins towards graves in preparation for the funeral.
