Residents in flood-affected areas are being urged to listen to warnings as evacuation orders remain in place for areas such as the Mid North Coast and around the Hawkesbury-Nepean area.
NSW SES Assistant Commissioner Sean Kearns told Sky News another evacuation order was issued overnight for low-lying areas in Moree.
He said 650 teams – including more than 1,750 volunteers – had been deployed, and were now being supported by the RFS, Fire and Rescue, NSW Police, NSW Ambulance and interstate colleagues.
Mr Kearns also warned people to hold off returning to their homes “because even when we do issue an all clear, our volunteers and other agencies will have to go in and assess the damage that’s been done to make sure it’s safe.”
