Sadly the Congress govt. came to power and for 10 years Doval was out of mainstream work but he got busy creating and running the Vivekananda International Foundation- a institute for national renaissance.
Even in his retirement , he was involved in a mission to catch Dawood Ibrahim( Botched up by Mumbai cops/lack of coordination/Dawood's paid men inside the department.)
In 2014, he successfully brought back nurses kidnapped by ISIS militants in Iraq ( Negotiating with terrorists must be his hobby.)
He has been involved in all negotiations with plane hijackers during his career span(including Kandahar).
Fortunately, the BJP Government came to power in 2014 and gave this man what he deserves - The spy master is now the National Security Advisor .
