Ontario Premier Doug Ford, when asked whether he would consider a more expansive lockdown of the province, said on Saturday that the government would wait Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams and his team to determine whether or not it would be needed. However, he stressed that the provincial government was ready should that decision be made in response to COVID-19.
The question came as 59 new cases were announced in the province, bringing the total to 369. The province has also seen two deaths so far from the disease.
Ford also praised the efforts of businesses in the province for coming forward to offer their help in providing additional services and manufacturing of much-needed equipment
Economic Development Minister Vic Fedeli announced that the province had launched a website called "Ontario Together" to allow companies to work with the provincial government to provide more services and equipment to combat the COVID-19 outbreak.
