As with any painting job, interior or exterior, preparation is key. In fact, on most exterior house painting jobs, more time and energy is spent on prepping the surface than actually painting it -- the painting is the easy part! In this video, professional painter Jerry Vargo shows us how he preps T1-11 siding before any primer or paint is applied. Although this job is specific to T1-11 siding, the tips and principles carry over to most wood siding like clapboards, shingle shakes, tongue and groove planks, board and batten, and shiplap siding.
