June, July and August is traditionally Festival season in the UK and Europe, but if you like your rock and Metal bands, you don't have to spend hundreds of pounds going to festivals like Download, Wacken Open Air or the Sweden Rock Festival when you can get three days of high quality music at one of Britain's newest festivals -- Les-Fest, and all for a bargain price of under £50.
For those who are unaware of Les-Fest, it began in June 2012 as a two day event and was hailed as a success from the very beginning. Masterminded by Dave Ritchie, the festival is located in Valley International Park near Crossford, which is only a few miles from Larkhall train station meaning easy access to and from Glasgow city centre (which is served well by trains to and from London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool) and is less than an hours drive from Edinburgh.
The debut festival was such a success that it won the coveted Music Event of the Year award at the 2012 Scottish New Music Awards, and has been attracting a lot of attention ever since.
The attraction of Les-Fest is easy to see, as it is Scotland's one and only Rock and Metal Festival and this year is spread across three days from Friday 28th -- Sunday 30th June. With bands travelling from all over the UK and Europe to play there this year, the festival is going from strength to strength. This year is 2013 The Year of Les-Fest 2
