United Nations, New York, 21 October 2010 - In observance of the 10th anniversary of Security Council resolution 1325(2000) on women and peace and security, UN Open Days for Women and Peace were held in 27 post-conflict countries from June to September 2010. The UN initiative, the first of its kind, was designed to enable direct dialogue between women's peacebuilding organizations, women community leaders, and senior UN leadership at the country level.
