In this video tutorial, I demonstrate how to determine if a set of functions are linearly independent using the Wronskian Test for Linear Independence. If the Wronskian is not equal to zero for all values of x then y1 and y2 are linearly independent. However, if the Wronskian is equal to zero the test is inconclusive. The Wronskian Test for Linear Independence is useful in the study of differential equations when determining if a set of solutions forms a fundamental set of solutions.
