"Úr Cnoc Chéin Mhic Cáinte (The Green Hill or Burial Hill of Cian, son of Cáinte) Poet Peadar Ó Doirnín penned the words to this love song in the 1700s. Nowadays known as Killen Hill, and an area of great mythological significance, it is located about two miles north of Dundalk, County Louth. In the song, the poet tries to persuade his beloved to come with him to ' a land of milk and honey where lovers are forever happy in the undisturbed beauty of nature'. Lots more information on this song and the area can be found in Pádraigín Ní Uallacháin's great book 'A Hidden Ulster'.
