Amplitude Modulation (AM) is a method of modulating a carrier signal by varying its amplitude in accordance with the amplitude of a modulating signal. In Simulink, AM can be implemented using several blocks provided by the Simulink library. Here are the steps to implement AM in Simulink:
Open Simulink and create a new model.
From the Simulink library, search for the "Sine Wave" block and drag it into the model.
Connect the output of the "Sine Wave" block to the input of an "Amplitude Modulation" block.
From the Simulink library, search for another "Sine Wave" block and drag it into the model.
Connect the output of the second "Sine Wave" block to the "Amplitude Modulation" block's "Carrier" input port.
Connect the output of the first "Sine Wave" block to the "Amplitude Modulation" block's "Modulating" input port.
From the Simulink library, search for the "Scope" block and drag it into the model.
Connect the output of the "Amplitude Modulation" block to the "Scope" block's input port.
Double-click the "Scope" block to configure it, then click the "Run" button to simulate the model.
The "Sine Wave" blocks generate the carrier and modulating signals, while the "Amplitude Modulation" block modulates the carrier signal with the modulating signal. The output of the "Amplitude Modulation" block is the modulated signal, which can be observed on the "Scope" block.
