Maqbool (2004) is the first in the series of three appropriations of Shakespear by Vishal Bhardwaj which includes Omkara (2006) and Haider (2014).
I found myself obsessed with Maqbool and performances of the three leads : Irrfan (Maqbool aka Macbeth), Tabu (Nimmi aka Lady Macbeth) and Pankaj Kapoor (Abbaji aka King Duncan). It even led me to read the original play by Shakespeare, which was a first for me. Here's my video essay on Why I Love Maqbool.
