In our final part of our third lecture series, I'll talk briefly about three early American sociological thinkers who are important to how we understand sociology today. Note that each has ideas that transformed the discipline (and even created a new sub-discipline in social work) while also being encapsulated in Mills' Sociological Imagination.
Today, we'll meet three American Sociologists: George Herbert Mead, Jane Addams, and W.E.B. DuBois. Each of these early American Sociologists helped create sociology into the discipline we use today to understand social policies, individual behaviors, and structural issues in our society.
