This Indian Torpedo can Fly
Indian torpedoes can "fly" because they're smart. But it’s not what you might think. "Smart" stands for "Supersonic Missile Assisted Release of Torpedoes," a weapon system developed by India's Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Regular torpedoes have a short range. For example, the U.S. Navy's Mach 48 torpedo has a maximum range of 30 miles. However, this isn't an issue with the Smart system, where a supersonic missile carries the torpedo. The missile, which can be launched from a truck or a ship, has a range of 400 miles and is guided by an inertial navigation system and a two-way data link for mid-flight corrections. When the missile reaches the target area, it drops the torpedo with a parachute, allowing it to travel an additional 12 miles to its target. The enemy ships won't see it coming. #shortsviral #indianarmy
