The rand continues to trade at stronger levels following the the signing of a petition by 81 CEOs yesterday expressing support for Finance Ministe,r Pravin Gordhan, who is due to appear in court next week to face a charge of fraud. In the petition the CEOs say they stand as one for the rule of law but they are against the charging of Gordhan describing the charges as without factual or legal foundation against the public interest. Their support comes as Gordhan prepares to deliver this year's Medium Term Budget Policy Statement in Parliament tomorrow.
