Yellowed plastic is a real problem in any vintage collectible: Dingy yellow-brown parts are unpleasant to behold and severely reduce the appeal of toys, technology and (naturally) our precious and treasured synthesizers. There is a way to get those yellowed parts back to their original color, provided you are ready to mix up some caustic chemicals and hang out in the lab for a few days, which I (of course) did when faced with a chain-smoked Little Phatty keyboard.
Here is a single video (edited from 23 video recordings taken over a 3 day period) in which I apply the Retr0brite process to a severely yellowed synthesizer keybed (and its controller wheels) and get some impressively good results by the end. With the right gear and precautions, it can be done!
