For the first time since 2018, after years of construction, the Holiday Lights Festival returned to Gene Leahy Mall at the RiverFront. The newly renovated Gene Leahy Mall at the RiverFront was unveiled in the summer of 2022. The winter of 2022 marked the first time in years that thousands of twinkling lights returned to downtown Omaha along Farnam Street. Organizers use LED lights and timers to maximize energy efficiency.
