Today in the shop, we modify some Martin Tool body hammers with a leather boot. This simple modification can be done to any size or shape body hammer. The leather acts as a modest shock absorber as you strike the metal. The act of stretching the metal still takes place, but at a much less aggressive rate. Perfect for forming or correcting delicate metals without marring the surface. Also, Tilly needs to find some where else to store her hammers…
