2017 has been nothing short of a whirlwind of fun and work for Selena Gomez. Her health is back on track, she’s in a hot and heavy committed relationship and now she’s making big moves in… medicine!! In 2015, Selena revealed she is living with lupus. In 2016 she took time to go to rehab and get her health in check and today she is dabbling in the medical field.

We love and admire Selena for her charitable ways and recently the singer donated money to the University of Southern California ‘s Keck school of Medicine to help in the fight against lupus! This is also the start of the Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research.

The SelGo Fund for Lupus Research will focus on researching and treating the complications of the autoimmune disease. Okay, this is THE coolest news I have heard in awhile! I love how real, selfless and just how plain genuine Selena is! Seriously, she’s so damn cool! In addition to her newfound project with USC, Selena has a Netflix drama series coming out called 13 reasons why. Sel is an executive producer on the project.

Clearly Selena has been very busy what with her singing, producing, acting, dating, funding and spearheading lupus research fund, so is it a big surprise that she was noticeably absent from countless award shows this year? She and the Weeknd have taken their romance to a new level and to a handful of cities around the world, so she wasn’t really in the united states to attend the parties, but does it make you a bit nervous how much the Weeknd’s schedule is influencing Selena’s?

And we also told you last week that a source close to Selena said the 24 year old could see herself marrying The Weeknd and starting a new life with him. Is it just me or do things seem to be moving way too fast for the couple? Honestly though, I just hope she is happy and I hope she is treated like the queen that she is!
