This is an easy step-by-step tutorial on how to install the trending Minecraft resource pack Fresh Animations on Fabric and without Optifine on Windows and Mac for Minecraft 1.20.4 and earlier versions.
You have probably seen this cute resource pack on Hermitcraft Season 10. It makes mob animations so much better and more realistic.

Installation guide for Fresh Animations:

1. These animations are part of a resource pack called Fresh Animations. Fresh Animations demands Optifine to be installed, however it can be used without Optifine.
2. These instructions assume that you are using a modloader like Fabric, Quilt, Forge, or Neoforge and that you do not use Optifine.
3. Download the resource pack Fresh Animations and the two mods Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features. All of these are available on Curseforge and Modrinth and the links are below. Make sure to download the correct version for your version of Minecraft and for your specific mod loader.

4. To install the resource pack and the mods you need to move them into the resourcepack and mod folder inside your .minecraft folder respectively. Whether you use Windows or MAC first open your file browser in the directory into which you downloaded the resource pack and the mods.
a. On MAC
i. Open Finder and navigate to the folder into which you downloaded the resource pack and mods.
ii. Open a second Finder window. Press Shift + Command + L. This will open the Library folder. Locate the folder Application Support and double click it. Locate the folder minecraft and double click it.
iii. In the minecraft folder locate the folder resourcepacks and double click it. Now drag the fresh animations download from your download folder into this folder.
iv. Go back to the .mincraft folder, locate the mods folder and double click it. Now drag the entity model features and entity texture features files from your download folder into this folder.
b. On Windows:
i. Press Win + R, type %appdata% into the dialog box and press ENTER
ii. This will open a file browser window. Locate the folder named .minecraft here and double click on it.
iii. In the .minecraft folder locate the folder resourcepacks and double click it. Now drag the fresh animations download from your download folder into this folder.
iv. Go back to the .mincraft folder, locate the mods folder and double click it. Now drag the entity model features and entity texture features files from your download folder into this folder.
c. On Linux
i. Your .minecraft folder is usually located in your home folder. Use your favourite file browser and follow the steps as for MAC.
5. To be able to use Fresh Animations you must now start Minecraft. Once in Minecraft press Escape, then click on the Options… button and then click on the Resource Packs… Button. Locate Fresh Animations in the left pane of the window and hovering over the icon on the left will display a right pointing triangle. Click this. Minecraft will ask you if you wish to load this pack and most likely give you a warning message that this pack was made for an older version of Minecraft. Click the Yes button. Fresh Animations will now appear in the right pane. Click Done and Done again and then Back to Game. That’s it all done.
