1. Downtown Main Street
Mackinac's main thoroughfare looks straight out of a postcard. Restaurants, hotels, retail stores, rental companies, and tour operators call this street home. Walk the street, rent a bike, or ride a carriage and enjoy all Main Street has to offer. Don't forget about Mackinac's famous fudge!

2. Mackinac Island Carriage Tours ([ Ссылка ])
By far our favorite experience when visiting the island. The carriage tour is a very peaceful way to explore the island. They also allow dogs! On the tour you will learn about the horses and the influence the carriage men had on prohibiting the use of automobiles on the island. You will also have the opportunity to explore some of Mackinac Island's top sites, such as the Surrey Hills Museum (FREE), Wings of Mackinac ($10/adult), The Grand Stables (FREE), Arch Rock (FREE), Avenue of Flags (FREE), and the Mackinac Island Cemetery (FREE).

3. Fort Mackinac
The Fort was established by the British in 1780 and remained an active fort until it was closed in 1895. Today, live re-enactments bring its rich history to life. Don't miss out on the spectacular views from the Fort's walls.

4. Market Street
Market Street was originally Mackinac Island's Main Street. During the fur trade, the American Fur Company called this street home for four decades.Today you will see many beautiful bed and breakfasts and other historical properties, such as the Post Office, the Benjamin Blacksmith Shop, the Biddle House, Dr. Beaumont Museum and American Fur Company Retail Store, and the art museum.
5. The Grand Hotel ([ Ссылка ])
How is a hotel this size built in only 93 days?!?! Did you also know that the Grand Hotel lays claim to the "longest front porch in the world?" The hotel opened in 1887 and since then it has grown to 388 rooms, 14 bars and restaurants, an 18 hole golf course, and working horse stables. What an incredible place.
