It's good now, DICE are probably going to nerf it like they did in BF4 because they hate me.
To be fair I think the launch BF4 SRAW was OP, the ability to miss shots and just put your reticle over the target to have it eventually hit was too easy and not skillful. I think they went too far when it came to nerfing it then though. On the flip side the SRAW in 2042 was entirely luck based. If a shot hit it would be either lucky due to circumstance, i.e. a heli flying slowly or a jet flying directly at you and both not swerving off even though they could see the icon, and lucky due to most of the shots hitting off screen due to the zoom level and very bad field of view. It was still somewhat satisfying to hit those shots but not anywhere close to now. Now it feels really good because most of the time you can keep the missile and the target in view and guide it effectively, to me that's what makes it skill based.
Is it too good now? I honestly don't know, as someone with about 14 years of wire-guided rocket practice, I started in BC2 with the AT4, I think it's usable now. With that amount of time comes some amount of skill, at least hopefully, so my opinion is kind of skewed, but I will say it's good for me now and I hope they don't take away one shots on air vehicles like they did in BF4 because this SRAW isn't as strong as the BF4 SRAW was. As a final note this could have been a very lucky 2 days of not having to go against really good pilots so my opinion could change next time I play. I guess I'll see then.
This is technically part 9 of a series of me hitting primarily anti-air shots with the SRAW that I made for myself and if people want to see the first 8 parts I could make them public but they wouldn't be as good looking as this video.
