In Session 052302 we're joined by Meridith Geer of Tucker Georgia, USA. Meridith is a physical therapist for the US Army where she works along side other non-mechanical-assessment clinicians in a primary care setting. She presents a 62 year old male who was referred with a one year history of cramping and pain in the lower posterior thighs with walking up stairs or up hills. She gives us a thorough run down of the history, some specific discussion comparing vascular claudication and neurogenic claudication, his past medical history which she also considered in coming to a classification. She clarifies how she carried out the physical exam including some specific considerations related to a neurological and vascular screening. If your confidence in subgrouping and managing patients in the "OTHER" classification is not where you believe it could be, exposure to cases like this can certainly build your knowledge and familiarity!
