Figuring out how to price your health coaching program can be a little awkward and confusing.
You want to make your program accessible to everyone, but years of experience, knowledge, and research has gone into it. It's worth a much higher rate than what you're charging, but you want to hit that sales target and get to everyone, so you're probably tempted to go for a lower fee.
I'm here to tell you - DON'T do it.
It's a contentious issue and one that's been ruffling feathers for a long time, but there's a valid point behind all of this, and it benefits you, your paying clients, and whatever clients you'll be helping in the future.
There's a huge difference between charging someone $50 and charging someone $5k. If someone is paying you $5k to help them, you're going to bring your A-game every single time. You're going to be digging into every aspect of your experience and knowledge to help them.
What's more - they'll bring their A-game too. They're the ones paying $5k. When someone is spending that much money, they're far more willing to invest in themselves on a long-term basis, which gives you more room to genuinely transform their lives.
That $50 patient? They're not going to be investing in themselves as much or taking it as seriously.
The right people understand that they need to pay more for your health coaching program because it's an educated, fantastic service. That's only fair.
So, how do you price it?
Firstly, don't look at your competitors. You don't have time for that and they'll only make you think that you're charging too much. If you know you've put in the work and it's worth a higher rate, then charge that fee.
Look at what you've put into everything - your time, energy, effort, expertise, research, consultations, and the little extras - it's worth so much and it deserves a fair payment.
Once you've done this, once you've built up your reputation and your high-paying client base, you can start catering to people on the lower end of the pricing. This way, you relieve financial pressure off yourself and your family and you can actually focus on every client because you're not worrying about hitting a target anymore.
It's a contentious issue - charging more - but in the long run, it's far more beneficial for your, your high-paying clients, and the clients who need a decent program that's more financially accessible.
