전국 대부분 폭염특보
Today is Chobok, known to be the first of the three hottest days of summer. Sizzling heat will bake much of the peninsula with heat wave alerts in place in many parts of the country.
Sweltering highs of 33 degrees Celsius are in store in Seoul and Daejeon while Gwangju will see a high of 34 degrees and Daegu will top out at 36 degrees Celsius.
On Chobok, many Koreans line up round the block to eat Ginseng chicken soup, better known as Samgaetang,... or grilled eel... to prepare their bodies for the summer heat... and there are other various summer foods to help you stay cool.
Another band of rain is expected from Friday afternoon which will linger until Sunday and that will bring slight relief from the heat.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the international weather for viewers around the world.
While mostly sunny skies with blistering heat are in store for most regions in South Korea,... many regions in North Korea will also have scorching highs on this Wednesday.
As for major cities in Asia, those in Islamabad and New Delhi will see unstable weather conditions along with thunder and lightning.
Meanwhile, Jakarta will have a hot and dry day with a high of 32 degrees under partly sunny skies.
Heading to North America, LA and Washington DC will be under a fair amount of sunshine with highs of 29 and 35 degrees.
As for South America, Bogota and Buenos Aires will have a rainy Wednesday with highs of 16 and 17 degrees.
Taking you to Europe, another wet day is in store in Berlin and Paris while Moscow will also be rainy.
Lastly to Africa, Algiers will have similar weather conditions to Seoul under sunny skies with a high of 34 degrees.
